Home Improvement Project Chicks
|
For years, I have been asked, “How do you know how to do these things?” When I was growing up, the DIY philosophy was just a way of life. As a teenager, I changed plumbing & lighting fixtures, hung wallpaper, tackled carpentry projects and so much more. Later, after several years as a registered nurse, I stayed home to raise my children. In between diapers and play dates, I took on one DIY project after another. I read home repair books, asked pros and just tried! I found the courage to knock down walls, build soffits, tile floors and completely remodel my kitchen on my own. Over the years, friends asked me for advice and help on all sorts of projects in home repair and design. In 2007, I completed Temple’s Interior Design Program and launched my interior design business, Red Door Decors. From that platform, I taught DIY workshops for women at local adult schools and received a great response. I found that I love sharing my knowledge and empowering other women on their own DIY journey! Out of that passion, HIP Chicks was born! HIP Chicks has given me new purpose, personally and professionally. I want to inspire women to live life with confidence and security knowing they can tackle homeownership and so much more. These basic life skills will give women lasting confidence to take on everyday challenges, creating independent strong and confident women. It is my goal to ignite women’s sense of worth and self reliance. You can DIY and I am here to help! |

Thanks for your encouragement and your can-do attitude!

Thanks to HIP Chicks -The DIY Resource for Women, I now know how to unclog a sink, fix a leaky pipe, change a faucet, install a new toilet, or wire an outlet. Man, I'm awesome!
